Broadband climbing higher on tenant and homebuyer list of property requirements

Although ‘broadband broadband broadband’ doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as ‘location location location’, it is fast becoming a key factor for potential tenants and home buyers.

This week, property experts have announced that poor broadband speeds can lower a property price by up to 20%, and is a big “deal breaker”. The need to be connected has parked itself firmly near the top of the tenant/home buyer checklist – no one wants to miss out on social media, online shopping or video streaming websites.

Property portal Rightmove has even added a broadband speed checker, and has found that broadband was ranked as a more important feature than information on transport links and nearby schools.
