Remembering England’s national hero, St George’s Day is marked annually on the 23rd April with many events, pageants and parades up and down the country.
While it is highly unlikely that St George ever visited England, that has not stopped the Patron Saint being recognised in addresses across the country. There are thousands of properties, streets and developments named after St George across England (and even a few in Wales), of which over 1,500 properties sold in 2018. The Welsh are of course no less patriotic, recording 120 sales referring to St David in 2018.
It may be 1616 years since St George is alleged to have died, but the number of properties with a nod to St George continues to grow. 14% of ‘St George’ sales in 2018 were new build homes.
