A commemorative pavement plaque to celebrate the regeneration of Ruislip Manor hs been unveiled
The ceremony took place close to Elachi restaurant, to acknowledge work that has transformed the town centre. Ward councillors and Ruislip Manor business people attended.
The Mayor of London’s office invested £1.3m into the regeneration, with other funding from Hillingdon Council and Transport for London.
Improvements include new pavements, modern and bright street lighting and new trees.
Part of the money was also used to help more than 40 independent businesses improve their shop fronts with new signs and awnings.
The relocated post office is now also offering full banking services, as well as extended opening hours.
Hillingdon Council is committed to improving and promoting each of the borough's town centres. Hayes, Ruislip Manor and Northwood Hills have been the focus for major investment over the past four years.
Ruislip Manor residents are also being encouraged to join in a special Easter celebration, starting with craft activities from Monday, April 7, at Ruislip Manor Library and a family fun afternoon in Shenley Park from 2-4pm on Sunday, April 13.
Younger residents can also enter an Easter Bunny hunt in the town centre. Find out more at www.hillingdon.gov.uk/events
