It was lights, camera, action for 11-year-old film fan Tanvi Masrani when she interviewed Rio 2 director Carlos Saldanha.

It is not the first time the pupil of Newnham Junior School in Newnham Avenue, Eastcote, has interviewed the stars.

She took to the red carpet to grab a chat with Nightmare Before Christmas director Tim Burton, and has even met Dame Helen Mirren, which made her mum very jealous indeed.

The film buff, who lives in Ruislip Manor, is tasked with these exciting jobs because she is a star reporter for nationwide education charity Into Film, which enables young people to learn through and about film.

She met the Brazilian director, whose credits include Ice Age: The Meltdown and the first Rio film, about the new characters introduced in the animated sequel , and learned some of the production secrets.

Into Film clubs in schools, colleges and youth groups provide free access to a catalogue of thousands of films for youngsters to watch, discuss, review and learn through a wide range of film.

It is supported by the BFI and was born out of two leading film education charities, FILMCLUB and First Light.
